Vessels

1. Skull from below.
2. Tiny pots by Mizuyo Yamashita
3. The human heart stripped of fat and muscle, with just the angel veins exposed.
4. Vase | Origin: North Afghanistan, probably Balkh | Period: 12th century | Ceramic; Vessel, Fritware, unglazed
5. Kiki Smith Untitled 1987-90 In this work, twelve water-cooler bottles, silvered to a mirror surface, are each engraved with the name of a different bodily fluid: blood, tears, urine, milk, and more. The piece was inspired, Smith has said, by the medieval book of hours.
